for an assignment, but I used the topic of "tied up" to just do a study of hands. I like trying to draw them. I think I succeeded with this. I tend to shy away from really high contrast (which I think is great actually) and wanted to get better at it... photo of hands was used... sadly the photo of the drawing is blurred so a better one will be coming soon.

thanks, it was an asignment due last week. have you gotten any self portraits done for class yet???? I have only started one....seems I am always behind in this class!

This is a GREAT piece. It looks incredibly realistic--like a photograph. I love all the little lines and values changes and wrinkles. The hands have such character! Simply amazing.

As far as Ideas go, hands seems ripe to "infer" all kinds of Art friendly tripe on... they can be metaphors for almost anything. Again thats my weakness, I comprehend that so much can be read into "hands" but when called upon to do it... i say...." uhhh cuz I like'em.??" geez.. I am in the process of doing more hands and trying to at the same time come up with a nice summation of what they mean in my drawings... this particular drawing is really nice 22" x 30" and the pic I have on here doesn't do it justice...
